Crataegus cuneata or Chinese hawthorn is an outdoor, deciduous tree often used in bonsai. These trees have flowers (usually white) and the leaves are small. They can develop a lovely rough bark with age.
They thrive in full or partial sun and are frost hardy. However if planted own a small container would need protection from prolonged periods of freezing temperatures.
Hawthhorns need lots of watering during the growing season and roots should not be allowed to dry out otherwise tips can turn brown.
