Stewartia monadelpha are outdoor deciduous trees that enjoy moist but well drained soil. They have pointed oval leaves and mottled, cinnamon-coloured bark. The flowers are usually white in colour. Usually grown in the informal upright style, they are popular subjects for bonsai.

This is a hardy species but will need protecting if there is prolonged periods of frost expected. In summer they can kept in full sun, however when the flowers appear they should be provided with some shade to prevent blooms being scorched.

Water regularly throughout the growing season, increasing in the summer. In winter keep just moist.

Please Note: The picture is for guidance only. It is not generally possible to send the tree in the picture. Please note that measurements given are approximate not exact. Measurements given are from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree, the pot colour & style may also vary from the picture. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.
