Beyond Beginners Bonsai Workshop

If you have some basic bonsai skills and want to take your hobby to the next stage - then this course might suit you. Some of you may be struggling with trees that you don't know what to do with and wish for more guidance - Then this course may also suit you!

This approximately 2 hour course starts at 11am and is ideally for those who have some basic bonsai skills - like wiring and shaping.

You can bring a couple of your own trees or work on one medium sized tree from select nursery stock, included in the price, and which you can take home with you. If you wish to work on other material you can purchase raw material from our nursery and we will show you how to create - design and improve them in this workshop. 

Places for the course are limited, so booking is essential.
 

What to wear for this workshop?

All our workshops are conducted in an unheated greenhouse, so please ensure you wear appropriate clothing to be warm or cool (depending on the season). Sturdy/sensible footwear is encouraged as we are a working nursery.

What's included in the price? 
All the tools you need for this course will be supplied but feel free to bring your own tools if you'd prefer. One medium sized tree is included in the price from select nursery stock.

Cancellation policy 
Please be certain you can attend as there may not be a possibility to reschedule due to limited spaces for the workshops. Refunds will only be processed if cancellation has been received in writing within 14 days of purchase.

Feel free to arrive earlier if you wish (and we are open) to have a look round our 7 Acre Nursery and Japanese garden. Alternatively you can stay on afterwards to have a look around (gates close at 4pm daily.)

We have ample on-site parking and washroom facilities. We also have good disabled access.

Bonsai Workshops and Classes run by Herons Bonsai
We have been running our bonsai classes and workshops at Herons for over thirty years where they have been the source of inspiration for many bonsai enthusiasts. Currently we run a number of different workshops by Peter Chan or a Herons Team Member. 
 
What is a Workshop?
All our workshops are hands on sessions for all abilities, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. You can learn many aspects of bonsai in this class. 

These workshops book up fast so please do book if you would like to attend.

We do have a waiting list that you are welcome to join by emailing [email protected] letting us know how many places you are looking to book, please accompany this with your contact number, this means we can call if we get a late cancellation.

If you are looking for a 1-2-1 class with Peter Chan he can normally offer a 2 hour time slot on a Monday or Tuesday morning starting at 11am finishing at 1pm. 

You can also book a 1-2-1 with one of our experienced Herons Team Member should you wish.
