Pinus or Pines are a good choice for bonsai. They are evergreen and can have interesting shapes and trunks.

Location

Place outside in full sun.

Temperature

Though pines are pretty hardy if there are prolonged periods of cold they will need protection.

Watering

Be careful not to over water as pines dislike constant moisture.

Pruning

Remove candles in early to mid summer to maintain the trees shape.

Repotting

Check if your tree needs repotting every 3-6 years in spring.

Feeding

Always read the instructions before feeding. Feed healthy trees from March to Summer until the candles are cut.

For more advice please visit our FAQ page and YouTube channel.

Please Note: The picture is for guidance only. It is not generally possible to send the tree in the picture. Please note that measurements given are approximate not exact. Measurements given are from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.
