Outdoor and deciduous Celastrus orbiculatus or the Oriental Bittersweet is a strong growing deciduous vine native to China, Korea and Japan. It grows with a twisting trunk which add character to the tree.

Popular trees as they produce fruits and a fairly unfussy plant in terms of location, though flower best in a bright position. If frosts are expected it’s best to protect the roots.

They require a fair amount of watering before fruit production. Leaves can be effected by drought. Reduce watering in winter so as the tree doesn’t get water logged.

Please Note: The picture is for guidance only. It is not generally possible to send the tree in the picture. Please note that measurements given are approximate not exact. Measurements given are from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree, the pot colour may also vary from the picture. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.
