Carpinus Coreana or the Korean Hornbeam is an outdoor deciduous bonsai

Location

This tree is kept outside all year in a sunny or semi-shaded place.  It does best if it is kept out in the open and in full sun for the duration of the growing season.

Temperature

Native to China, Japan and Korea, it's hardy in all temperate areas although appreciates being moved to a frost-free greenhouse or shed during prolonged periods of extreme cold weather.

Watering

Keep well watered during the growing season, keeping the soil just moist in the winter.

Pruning

Regular pruning before new buds open will soon produce an attractive structure of twigs and branches.

Repotting

Check to see if your tree needs repotting every two or three years.

Feeding

Feed during the growing season

Please Note: The tree in the picture is the one you will receive. Please note that measurements given are approximate not exact. Measurements given are from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree, the pot colour may also vary from the picture. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.
