The fruiting Olive is a mediterranean plant that enjoys warm to high temperatures and full sun. Olives can withstand a moderate amount of frost but if grown in a temperature region, they need protection from hard frost in winter.
They do not like wet soil so ensure that the soil you use is well drained.
Olives grow slowly so they don’t require much pruning. If you need to prune, it is advisable to do so in late summer after flowering and when fruits have formed.
Olives will naturally shed their leaves in the spring as new growth begins. Feed with a general fertiliser in early spring, and with low-nitrogen fertiliser in mid and late summer.
Please Note: The picture is for guidance only. It is not generally possible to send the tree in the picture. Please note that measurements given are approximate not exact. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.
