3 sizes of Akadama Bonsai Soil [Approx 2L bags]. You will receive a bag of shohin (fine) bags small and a bag of medium grade akadama.

With this deal you will receive 3 bags of Akadama in different grades. It can be used as in the picture (in the jug) to plant in. Or you can mix up different grades with your compost. You can also use the fine akadama as a top dressing.

A free draining alternative to normal Bonsai compost. Particulary excellent for Japanese Maples and Hinoki Cypress.

Can be used neat or as a top dressing.Hard Akadama Bonsai Soil bag Shohin granules. Akadama Tsuchi, literally "Red Ball Earth" is a type of volcanic soi imported from Japan for use as a bonsai soil. It offers properties of moisture retention and drainage that make it ideal as a soil component. The very best for conifers, though you can use it for
anything. Use straight or mixed with other soils. Time tested for centuries in Japan as the perfect soil for Bonsai

We have been running our bonsai classes and workshops at Herons for over thirty years where they have been the source of inspiration for many bonsai enthusiasts. Currently we run a number of different workshops by Peter Chan or a Herons Team Member. 
 
What is a Workshop?
All our workshops are hands on sessions for all abilities, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. You can learn many aspects of bonsai in this class. 

These workshops book up fast so please do book if you would like to attend.

We do have a waiting list that you are welcome to join by emailing [email protected] letting us know how many places you are looking to book, please accompany this with your contact number, this means we can call if we get a late cancellation.

If you are looking for a 1-2-1 class with Peter Chan he can normally offer a 2 hour time slot on a Monday or Tuesday morning starting at 11am finishing at 1pm. 

You can also book a 1-2-1 with one of our experienced Herons Team Member should you wish.
