Keisekizuna pumice is a porous substrate used in soil mixtures. It’s helpful as it doesn’t break down. 

It provides extra air for the roots, allows better drainage and means that the soils mix doesn’t completely break down and become anaerobic.  Can be used for both deciduous and coniferous trees. 

The colour is cream/white Pumice stones.

We have been running our bonsai classes and workshops at Herons for over thirty years where they have been the source of inspiration for many bonsai enthusiasts. Currently we run a number of different workshops by Peter Chan or a Herons Team Member. 
 
What is a Workshop?
All our workshops are hands on sessions for all abilities, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. You can learn many aspects of bonsai in this class. 

These workshops book up fast so please do book if you would like to attend.

We do have a waiting list that you are welcome to join by emailing [email protected] letting us know how many places you are looking to book, please accompany this with your contact number, this means we can call if we get a late cancellation.

If you are looking for a 1-2-1 class with Peter Chan he can normally offer a 2 hour time slot on a Monday or Tuesday morning starting at 11am finishing at 1pm. 

You can also book a 1-2-1 with one of our experienced Herons Team Member should you wish.
