Large Ilex Crenata 'Japanese Holly' Bonsai tree approximately 160-170cm tall, to be kept outside will need to be protected in winter. Due to the size, shape, value or weight of this piece it would need to be collected from our nursery.

This evergreen shrub, a native of the Mediterranean region, has aromatic leaves and beautiful white flowers, which are slightly scented. When grown indoors it needs lots of light and fresh air, and protection from drafts and frost. 

Water regularly and do not let the soil dry out. 

Please Note: Please note that measurements given are approximate not exact. Measurements given are from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.

We have been running our bonsai classes and workshops at Herons for over thirty years where they have been the source of inspiration for many bonsai enthusiasts. Currently we run a number of different workshops by Peter Chan or a Herons Team Member. 
 
What is a Workshop?
All our workshops are hands on sessions for all abilities, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. You can learn many aspects of bonsai in this class. 

These workshops book up fast so please do book if you would like to attend.

We do have a waiting list that you are welcome to join by emailing [email protected] letting us know how many places you are looking to book, please accompany this with your contact number, this means we can call if we get a late cancellation.

If you are looking for a 1-2-1 class with Peter Chan he can normally offer a 2 hour time slot on a Monday or Tuesday morning starting at 11am finishing at 1pm. 

You can also book a 1-2-1 with one of our experienced Herons Team Member should you wish.
