The Squamata Juniper originates from the Himalayas and western China. It produces prickly, blue needles and brown flaky bark. They are easy to keep outdoor evergreens, making them a popular choice.

Location
An outdoor species can be placed in full sun, but in summer give some shade to enhance needle colour and prevent them from turning brown.

Temperature
In temperatures below -10°C move to a frost-free shed or greenhouse.

Watering
Water regularly but sparingly, giving the plant more water in summer than in spring or autumn. In winter keep the compost just moist. This plant will not thrive in waterlogged soil.

Pruning
Prune regularly in summer and remove old brown needles. Trim back the tips of new foliage.

Repotting
Check to see if your tree needs repotting every 3 or 4 years.

Feeding
Feed during the growing season. Always read the instructions.

Please Note: The tree in the picture is the one you will receive. Measurements given are approximate not exact and are taken from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ slightly in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.
