Juniperus chinensis ‘San Jose’ is an outdoor evergreen variety, used to create stunning bonsai trees.
Location
This Juniper does best if it is placed in full sun throughout the growing season.
Temperature
In temperatures below -10°C move it to a frost-free shed or greenhouse. During the winter, junipers can take on a brown or reddish hue when exposed to frost, this is nothing to worry about, they will turn green again in the spring.
Watering
Water regularly but sparingly, giving the plant more water in summer than in spring or autumn. In winter keep the compost just moist. This plant will not thrive in waterlogged soil.
Pruning
Prune in late spring. When wiring be careful not to trap the needles under the wire and do not leave wire in place for more than a year.
Repotting
Feeding
Start feeding in early spring. Do not feed in autumn or winter.

Please Note: The tree in the picture is the one we will send. Measurements given are approximate not exact and are taken from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ slightly in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.
