The Portulacaria afra is very similar to the Jade.
Location & Temperature
This tree, if kept indoors, thrive in a bright, warm, draft free room (preferably not in direct sunlight as this can char the leaves, causing them to drop). This succulent tends to stretch easily if not given enough sunlight.
Watering
Excess watering can open this plant up to fungal attacks. So during the summer watering may be required once a week and once every 10 or 12 days during cooler climates. They don’t like consistently wet feet so be careful not to over water.
Pruning
Prune when required to maintain the shape.
Repotting
Check to see if you plant needs repotting every five or six years.
Feeding
You can fertilise in later winter to early spring with an indoor plant fertiliser diluted by half.
Please Note: The picture is for guidance only. It is not generally possible to send the tree in the picture. Please note that measurements given are approximate not exact. Measurements given are from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree, the pot colour may also vary from the picture. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.
