Large Yew Specimen Bonsai Tree approx 120-124cm tall. Due to the size, shape, value or weight of this piece it would need to be collected from our nursery.

This large Yew has been grown at Herons and styled by Kevin Wilson.

Yew is a hardy evergreen plant in temperate areas.

Location

Outdoors in full sun in summer.

Temperature

Outdoors in summer, but will require winter protection from hard frosts.

Watering

Water regularly throughout the growing season. Keep damp during winter.

Pruning

Prune in spring and autumn, take care not to slice through needles.

Repotting

Repot in spring when it needs it, check every 2-3 years.

Feeding 

Feed with a general fertilizer in spring and early autumn. Always read the label.

We have been running our bonsai classes and workshops at Herons for over thirty years where they have been the source of inspiration for many bonsai enthusiasts. Currently we run a number of different workshops by Peter Chan or a Herons Team Member. 
 
What is a Workshop?
All our workshops are hands on sessions for all abilities, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. You can learn many aspects of bonsai in this class. 

These workshops book up fast so please do book if you would like to attend.

We do have a waiting list that you are welcome to join by emailing [email protected] letting us know how many places you are looking to book, please accompany this with your contact number, this means we can call if we get a late cancellation.

If you are looking for a 1-2-1 class with Peter Chan he can normally offer a 2 hour time slot on a Monday or Tuesday morning starting at 11am finishing at 1pm. 

You can also book a 1-2-1 with one of our experienced Herons Team Member should you wish.
