The Wild Olive (Olea europaea) is a tree commonly found in Mediterranean countries. The wild olive is of interest as Bonsai as they develop tiny leaves, making them an ideal subject for bonsai. The Olive as Bonsai tree is easy to care for and very strong so it is a suitable choice for use as Bonsai.
Location
You can place the outside and in a sunny spot, this can help to reduce the size of the leaves. It is best to place the olive tree in a cold greenhouse which is kept frost-free during the colder months.
Temperature
They must be protected during the winter if temperatures get too low. Preferably use a soil mix with good drainage. It can withstand temperatures slightly below 0° C / 32° F but should be protected from anything colder.
Watering
Avoid soil being constantly wet. Water thoroughly whenever the soil becomes dry.
Repotting
Check your tree for repotting every 2 or 3 years.
Feeding
Depending on whether your using solid or liquid food, feed according to the label.
