The Morus sp. or Mulberry is an outdoor deciduous tree and is easy to train. Especially delightful and good as a fruiting bonsai. The leaves and fruit reduce in size when the trees are grown in pots.
Location
Keep outdoors all year round. To thrive, these bonsai should be kept in full sun throughout the growing season.
Temperature
They will need protection from frosts in winter because their fleshy roots can rot.
Watering
Water regularly throughout the growing season, especially during the summer. Keep the soil just moist in the winter.
Pruning
Prune to shape in early spring.
Repotting
Check to see if your tree needs repotting every couple of years.
Feeding
Use general fertilizer in mid-summer and low nitrogen feed in late summer.
