In this all inclusive special Masterclass Itoigawa Juniper workshop you will design and make a bonsai tree from set nursery stock. You will build on your skills using wire and raffia to bend branches to form a basic bonsai shape together with jin/shari work and pruning/branch selection.
This course format assumes you have some experience of bonsai i.e ideally you will have some understanding of the principles of growing of Bonsai, basic tool use, wiring, pruning and repotting.
We will be taking a specific species of raw bonsai material, an Itoigawa Juniper, from nursery stock, and go into sufficient detail for you to feel confident in styling your tree.
The course fee includes the plant material (which you get to take home with you), use of a toolkit (if required), tuition and any soil, pot and accessories required on the day.
We will begin promptly at 11am and aim to conclude at 1pm. We will likely be working in our back greenhouse (unheated/no air conditioning), so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear, taking into account the time of year.
No open toe sandals or flip flops are to be worn for safety reasons.
