Akadama Bonsai Soil, double line, available in different grades. Approximately 2L at time of bagging, may settle when stored/ shipped.

Double line Akadama.
A standard hard quality akadama. Very porous, good water retention and excellent drainage. Helps prevent root rot. A widely used reliable substrate for bonsai. Made in Ibaraki, Japan.

Available in different gradees:
Shohin / Mame: 1 - 2 mm
Shohin: 1 - 3 mm
Standard: 3 - 6 mm
Large: 8 - 10 mm


Approximately 2 litres when packed. As Akadama is a granular substrate, some settling may occur during storage and transport, which may reduce the apparent volume on arrival.
Some dust and fine particles are normal and it is recommended that Akadama is sieved before use.

Bonsai Workshops and Classes run by Herons Bonsai
We have been running our bonsai classes and workshops at Herons for over thirty years where they have been the source of inspiration for many bonsai enthusiasts. Currently we run a number of different workshops by Peter Chan or a Herons Team Member. 
 
What is a Workshop?
All our workshops are hands on sessions for all abilities, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. You can learn many aspects of bonsai in this class. 

These workshops book up fast so please do book if you would like to attend.

We do have a waiting list that you are welcome to join by emailing [email protected] letting us know how many places you are looking to book, please accompany this with your contact number, this means we can call if we get a late cancellation.

If you are looking for a 1-2-1 class with Peter Chan he can normally offer a 2 hour time slot on a Monday or Tuesday morning starting at 11am finishing at 1pm. 

You can also book a 1-2-1 with one of our experienced Herons Team Member should you wish.
