The Cornus Mas or Cornellian cherry is an early flowering tree. Here it is in mid - March, already ihn bloom. It flowers earlier than the Forsythia. The lightly scented flowers are borne on the bare wood, making it one of the most welcome sights in late winter. The flowers are followed by little cherry like fruit.
These trees have been grown on our nursery since 1986 from already well established plants, so they must be around 30 years old,
The trunks resemble the Trident maple.
