Arakawa Specimen X Large
The Arakawa or Rough-bark Japanese maple is probably the best maple for autumn colour. It has clear cerise red leaves in the autumn which last for nearly four weeks. The bark is of course its distinctive feature. It is also sometimes called the 'pine-bark' or 'snake-bark' maple.
This is one of our few large Specimen Arakawas that we have left.
Has a massive trunk - thicker than the drinks can and excellent nebari.
The very popular ones at £295 which we used to import from Japan are now longer available. As with most imported Maples, they are getting scarcer.
