Kwan Yin or the Goddess of Mercy is one of the Buddhist 'gods' or goddesses.
To Buddhists, she is one of the three Great Beings who is famous for her power over the forces of nature. Her name means 'the one who sees and hears  the cries of human suffering'.
This splendid figure is carved from high quality dark grey granite and is 47cm high. It weighs 30kg.
The workmanship of the sculptor is of a very high standard.
